PEN/INSULA POETRY is a statewide poetry community resource / website and event series that I founded in 2021 to serve as a home for Michigan poetry. Featuring monthly online readings, resources, organizations, the site is a hub and headquarters for Michigan poets and poetry lovers. THE WELLSPRING LITERARY SERIES
The Wellspring Literary Series is an annual reading series that I founded in 2009 and facilitate in downtown Mt. Pleasant. Typically a total of four readings take place monthly from October through April, on Monday evenings at 7pm, at the Art Reach Center of Mid Michigan (111 E. Broadway). The series brings some of the finest poets and writers to mid-Michigan from all over the state; thus far we’ve featured writers from Detroit, Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Northern Michigan, Holland, Midland and of course right here in good old Mt. Pleasant. Audiences are also treated to readings by Central Michigan University students, and music by local musicians and students and faculty of the School of Music. Max and Emily’s restaurant donates a complete spread of food for the events–so everyone leaves well-fed and nourished by good food, music, art, and poetry!
