Happy Summer friends,
In addition to the joy of several launches of Severance, my latest collection, this spring; this summer there’s been a good deal of roadwork on my most recent manuscript, which I hope to complete in the coming months. Underway since 2013, this book is evolving in ways I never could’ve predicted, and that is VERY exciting. I’ve been writing some new poems, and mostly making large-scale edits to the manuscript. However, I’ve also done some painting, which has been an absolute thrill, because I haven’t painted since I was in elementary school. It has become a new passion.
If you still haven’t picked up a copy of Severance, let me know–if I have any left, contact me directly to purchase a signed copy if I have any on hand, or visit Salmon Poetry to purchase a copy. Soon, the book will be available on Amazon directly, and other outlets.
I’m off to Pittsburgh’s White Whale Bookstore on Thursday, July 11 to launch Severance there, alongside my friend Charlie Brice’s launch of his new book An Accident of Blood. The following week I’ll be reading in Midland at Poetry in the Pines, in beautiful Dow Gardens. Also on the horizon–a few more readings in summer and fall. Visit the readings page to check out the details.
I hope your summer is offering you a chance to breathe, to relax, to delight in your days.
Read and write on,
Robert
